Jean-Daniel (JD) studied history and literature at Bordeaux III university and UCL London before joining London’s National Centre for Circus Arts. 

He has performed with top UK and French contemporary circus companies including Barely Methodical Troupe, Superfan, compagnie Bestia and compagnie Gratte-Ciel. In 2016, in collaboration with Nikki Rummer, he created the multi award-winning show Knot. 

JD’s personal practice and interest is at the cross between clown, storytelling, theatre, cabaret, dance and performance. (le) Pain, his solo debut show about growing up queer in the family bakery, premiered at the Mime Festival in 2022. Lately, JD has also been collaborating with Lucy Mc Cormick on her show Life Live.
