It Needs Horses

It Needs Horses (2011) won The Place Prize for Dance, sponsored by Bloomberg

It Needs Horses (2011) tells the tale of a down at heel circus duet and their increasingly desperate attempts to entertain the crowd. The glamour has faded and the performers have forgotten their acts, but the show must go on.

It Needs Horses premiered as part of The Place Prize for Dance and went on to tour in a double bill with Lost Dog’s Home for Broken Turns in 2012-13.

“One of the best pieces of dance theatre in recent times” Total Theatre

“Beautifully orchestrated. Thoroughly entertaining” Sunday Express
