Maya Carroll
Maya trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First Class BPA (Hons) degree in 2018. In 2019 she joined Verve, the postgraduate performance company at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she toured works by Ben Wright, Maxine Doyle, Joan Clevillé and Noa Zuk. Maya graduated from Verve with a Distinction and was also awarded the ‘Overall Achievement in Professional Practice Award’ for her year in the company.
Since graduating, Maya has worked as a Freelance Dance Artist, collaborating with artists such as Petri Delights, Extended Play Dance, Night People Events, Mad Dogs Dance Theatre, Matthew Robinson, Ruby Portus and Henry Ward. As a company member of Mobius Dance, she also had the pleasure of working with Wilhelmina Ojanen and Amy Voris. In 2020, she returned to NSCD as a staff member to work with students to build and establish a Students' Union at the Conservatoire. Maya first worked with Ben Duke as a teenager, when she was a member of Shift Youth Dance Company at The Place. She joined Lost Dog in September 2022, for the creation and performances of 'Ruination' at the Royal Opera House.
