The Argonauts

The culmination of the British Council’s four-year programme Unlimited: Making the Right Moves, The Argonauts looks at how we build our sense of individual and collective identity through the telling and re-telling of stories. It’s a piece about the mythical and the mundane and how they are much closer than we think.

The Argonauts was created in collaboration with Candoco Dance Company and the British Council and premiered on 25 September 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia during the UK/Georgia 2019: New Horizons cultural season.  It then toured to Baku, Azerbaijan and Yerevan, Armenia.

The Argonauts was going to have its UK premier at London’s Southbank Centre and be part of LIFT 2020.

It didn’t happen.

It was going to be unforgettable.

As a way of marking what should have been and to celebrate the brilliant cast, offering a glimpse of The Argonauts in their home countries.

This film is not the show.
